I am Dr. Usman Barkat, practicing as a first-contact practitioner and consultant physiotherapist at Tariq Medicare (Khanewal). My clinical practice focuses on restoring movement through structured, non-surgical protocols.

Graduating from Sargodha Medical College (University of Sargodha) in 2017, I have served across primary and tertiary care institutions in Pakistan. My clinical foundation includes intensive cardiopulmonary rehabilitation within the ICU department of the CPE Institute of Cardiology, guiding complex post-cardiac surgery patients back to functional respiratory and physical vitality.

Beyond cardiopulmonary care, my core expertise centers on advanced musculoskeletal and joint rehabilitation—treating degenerative joint disease, acute sports trauma, and chronic spinal pathologies. I employ specialized myofascial dry needling to deactivate deep neuromuscular trigger points and therapeutic cupping therapy (Hijama) to stimulate microcirculation, reduce chronic fascial restrictions, and accelerate local tissue remodeling.

In the domain of neuromuscular rehabilitation, I manage complex motor impairments including post-stroke hemiparesis (CVA), facial palsy (Bell’s palsy), diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and progressive myopathies. By combining precise manual joint mobilization, neurodynamic nerve tensioning, and targeted motor relearning, my clinical aim is straightforward: deliver patient-first rehabilitation that spares individuals from unnecessary injections and invasive surgical procedures.

Alongside active clinical practice, I have contributed to physical therapy academia—teaching, lecturing, and clinically mentoring Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students. Educating future clinicians in applied clinical anatomy, biomechanical movement assessment, and evidence-based rehabilitation protocols has further sharpened my commitment to clinical precision and patient care.
